Tori originally comes from China. Her original name is Jing Wei which means Little Bird. Upon arrival in Japan, she took on the Japanese version of her name, Tori.
When her mother passed away while she was a little girl, her father decided to become a monk to avoid any other temptations the world may put forth.
Tori grew up amongst the kung fu trainees in the temple and fell in love with martial arts. Most of her fighting style is close combat hand to hand fighting, resembling that of Wing Chun. Her prodigious aptitude for fighting also led her to develop the Crane and Tiger arm blades built around a yin and yang concept.
Speaking of love, while her father might have been keeping himself away from the temptations of the world, he had brought with him a big temptation for all the other trainees at the temple as Tori started to blossom.
The elder monks (consterned by her flirtatious presence and ruffled by her continuous teasing) finally found a way to get rid of the little nuisance. Having heard of the SDL in Japan, under ruse of spreading Buddhism and using Tori's love for martial arts and competitions, the temple clergy assigned Tori and her father to go forth across the waters.
After several misadventures through the broken lands of nothern China where the Golden Emperor and the Huns waged war, Tori and her father finally made it to Japan. Along the way, they picked up a milky eyed youth who names himself Vasilli from the north (who proved useful in carrying heavy objects).
The trio now have opened a small pau shop in a small village in Japan. Tori is the cook and hostess, Vasilli does manual labour and Tori's dad lives off zen... and stolen pau's
Tori's first quest now is to obtain for herself fabled Japanese steel...
DeviantART has partnered with FAIR to help promote equality through The Love Unites Shepard Fairey Equality Project. We're asking deviants to align themselves with this cause and have their work judged by Shepard Fairey himself!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
For those who have many watchers, and for those who dont have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally related to common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.
